Age Calculator in Years, Months and Days
Most age counters divide the days by 365 and give you a rounded number. Forms do not want that — they want years, months and days, or the exact date you turn 18. Enter a date of birth and the date you are calculating on, and Nexby counts the calendar properly.
Pick your date of birth and the exact age appears here: years, months and days, plus the total in weeks and days.
Nexby counts calendar years, months and days between the two dates instead of dividing days by 365.25, which is what forms and employers expect. Days are computed in UTC, so a daylight-saving switch never makes you a day younger or older. Months borrow the true length of the previous month (28 to 31 days), and the total day count is the plain difference between the two midnights.
- Enter your date of birth — Use the picker or type it as YYYY-MM-DD. The tool works only with dates, never with guesses about your age.
- Set the calculation date — It defaults to today. Change it to a deadline, a test date or a certificate date to see your age on that exact day.
- Read the breakdown — You get the age in years, months and days, plus total days, weeks, months and hours lived, the weekday you were born and how many days are left to your next birthday.
- Check the milestone table — The dates you turn 18, 21, 40, 60 and 65 are listed with how many days have passed or remain — useful for CNIC, voter registration and senior-citizen paperwork.
- Counting is done in UTC calendar arithmetic, so daylight saving and month lengths never shift you by a day.
- Months borrow the true length of the previous month, which is why you get 11 months 30 days instead of a rounded year.
- A 29 February birthday is treated as 28 February in non-leap years, the way most forms and airlines handle it.
- Nothing is stored or sent anywhere — the dates never leave your browser.
Age Calculator — questions
How is my age calculated here?
The tool finds the last birthday you actually passed, counts whole years to it, then counts whole months and remaining days from that date to the calculation date. This is the same method an identity form expects, and it differs from dividing total days by 365.25, which can be off by a day or a month.
When do I become 18 in Pakistan for a CNIC or voter ID?
On the day your birth date plus 18 years falls — the milestone table shows that exact date and weekday. NADRA allows a first CNIC once you have completed 18 years, and voter eligibility is usually fixed to the list revision date rather than today, so check the deadline against the calculation date field.
Why does the age change if I use a different calculation date?
Because age is a difference between two dates, not a fixed property. Job applications, exams and visa forms each ask for your age on their own cut-off date, so set that date in the second field rather than assuming today.
Is the total days count accurate across leap years?
Yes. Days are counted as the difference between two UTC midnights, so leap days are included exactly — someone born on 29 February accumulates the same total as any other date.
Can I calculate age in months for a baby?
Yes. The result shows months as a running total as well as the years-months-days split, so 1 year 3 months also reads as 15 months plus the remaining days.
Does this work for dates before 1900 or in the future?
Dates from 1900 onwards work normally, and the calculation date can be any future date — useful for planning. If the birth date is later than the calculation date, there is no age to report and the tool says so instead of showing a negative number.
