What this site contains

Nexby hosts no user-uploaded material. Its pages consist of the site's own tool interfaces, our own written explanations, and advertising creative supplied by third-party networks. Because files are processed on your device and never reach us, we cannot accidentally be storing your copyright work — which also means we usually cannot produce it as evidence.

Two things can still trigger a legitimate complaint: our own text or imagery, and an ad creative that infringes someone's rights. Both are handled the same way below.

Filing a notice

Email hello@nexby.co.uk with the subject line "DMCA notice" and include:

  1. Identify the copyrighted work you own, with a registration number or a URL where it is publicly shown.
  2. Give the exact www.nexby.co.uk page URL where the infringing material appears.
  3. Describe where the material sits on that page — a paragraph of text, an image, an advertisement.
  4. Your address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act for the owner.
  7. Your physical or electronic signature (your typed full name is accepted).

What happens next

A compliant notice is acknowledged within two business days. Where the claim is on its face valid we remove or disable the material promptly, normally the same week, and tell you what was removed. If the notice is incomplete we will say precisely which element is missing rather than ignore it. Repeated infringement reports about the same content may lead us to retire the affected page entirely.

Advertising complaints

If the infringing material is an ad we do not control, send us the same details plus a screenshot showing the creative and the site it promotes. We forward the complaint to the ad network, request the creative be unserved from our property, and confirm the outcome to you. Networks typically act within a few days.

Counter-notice

If material was removed because of a notice naming you, you may send a counter-notice containing: your contact details; the URL of the removed material; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification; and consent to jurisdiction. We forward a valid counter-notice to the complaining party, who then has ten business days to start a court action before the material is restored.

Before you file

Fair-use and quotation rights exist in most jurisdictions, and short excerpts, commentary, parody and comparison often qualify. Consider whether the use you are complaining about is licensed or fair before filing — knowingly misrepresenting a claim is itself actionable.
