- Set today's metal rates — Type the current gold and silver price per gram in PKR. Nisab is derived from these, so this is the one number worth checking against your bazaar.
- Choose the nisab basis — Silver nisab (612.36 g) is lower and therefore obliges more people to pay; gold nisab (87.48 g) is higher. "Lower of the two" is the safe default.
- Fill in assets and debts — Business stock at selling price, receivables you expect to collect, and only debts that are actually due now.
- Read the result — Net wealth, whether you cross nisab, the annual zakat at 2.5% and the amount to keep aside each month.
- Tola-friendly: gold and silver are entered in grams, and 1 tola = 11.664 g.
- Shows the gold nisab and silver nisab in rupees separately so you can see exactly where you stand.
- Monthly set-aside figure, because most people pay in instalments rather than one lump.
- Runs on your device with no account — nothing about your wealth is stored or transmitted.
Zakat Calculator (PKR) — questions
What is nisab in PKR for 2026?
Nisab is not a fixed rupee amount — it is 87.48 grams of gold or 612.36 grams of silver, priced on the day your zakat year ends. At today's rates that is roughly a few million rupees on the gold basis and much less on the silver basis. Enter current per-gram prices in this calculator and it converts both thresholds for you.
Should I use the gold or the silver nisab?
Hanafi fiqh, which most of Pakistan follows, uses the lower of the two — in practice the silver nisab — so that more people qualify to pay. If you follow a different school or your local committee announces a figure, switch the basis and use their number.
Do I pay zakat on gold jewellery I wear?
Scholars differ: many Pakistani zakat organisations count stored gold and jewellery as zakatable wealth, while some schools exempt jewellery used regularly. Enter what you hold on this calculator, then confirm the treatment with your mufti.
How do EMIs and house loans reduce zakat?
Only the amount that is due and payable at the time you calculate is deducted, not twenty years of future instalments. That is why this tool has a "debts you must repay" field rather than a total loan balance field.
What about shares and mutual funds?
Common practice is to zakat the portion of the portfolio that represents liquid, zakatable assets — often quoted as 50–60% for a general equity fund — rather than the whole market value. Because that percentage depends on the fund, enter the value your fund or scholar gives you.
Is a lunar year or a solar year used?
Zakat year is 354 or 355 days, so a zakat year arrives slightly earlier each Gregorian year. The days field lets you switch if you have been tracking on a solar calendar and want to see the difference.
